West Wind Alpaca Ranch

Welcome to West Winds Alpaca Ranch. We are located in West Valley, New York, on 60 acres – in northern Cattaraugus County – about 35 miles south of Buffalo. We are raising Huacaya alpacas, concentrating on breeding the best in browns and fawns.Our alpacas enjoy the rolling hills of our area, and we think you will, too!

The 2010 birthing season complete & we have 7 beautiful, energetic crias in the pastures! Come watch them romp & play!

Spring is finally arriving and birthing season is nearly upon us. The first crias of the year are due in early May. This year we have around 14 crias due, so it’s going to be a busy time. It’ll be so much fun to watch them all run and play out in the pastures!

Check out our upcoming events below to see what’s going to be going on this year, both on and off the ranch. We’d love to have you visit us at the ranch, or come see us at one of the many events we’ll be attending in the Western New York area!

As always, we welcome visitors to our ranch to meet our alpacas and see what we do. For those that have visited us in the past, we’d love to have you come back for a visit and see just how much we’ve grown, doing what we love so much! For those of you who have not had the opportunity to visit yet, please give us a call or email us. We arrange ranch tours by appointment & are happy to have one visitor, or an entire group! We love to show off our beautiful animals and tell you all about them and why we raise them!

Western New York Maple Festival, Franklinville, NY
April 30 & May 1, 2011

We’ve been attending this event for several years now and have always enjoyed it immensely. If you like real maple syrup and maple products, this is the place to be for this weekend! We will be there with a couple of show & tell alpacas and our products from our gift shop that will be available for sale. There’ll be lots of crafts and events both days for all ages to enjoy, along with a parade on Saturday. Please come see us if you’re in the area that weekend!

Shearing Weekend, West Winds Alpaca Ranch, West Valley, NY

Shearing Weekend at the ranch! Please call or email us & let us know if you’d like to come check out how shearing is done. We’d be happy to have you &, if you’re willing, we’ll put you to work helping out in the process. There’s always a need for extra hands at shearing! We’ll have refreshments on hand for those that want to come during that weekend, so just let us know if you’ll be coming!

Western NY Dairy & Ag Festival, Springville, NY
June 3, 4, & 5, 2011

This is always a fun weekend for us. We’ve been doing this event for 8 years now & we’ll be there again this year, with a few of our alpacas and have our store set up as well, so you can browse & shop for alpaca products while learning more about these wonderful animals! It’s a great festival with lots to do for the whole family, so if you attend this year, be sure to come visit us & meet some of our alpacas!

OnoFest, Onoville Marina, Steamburg, NY

The 4th annual OnoFest at Onoville Marina is being held on this day. This will be our first time attending this event & we’re very excited about it! We’ll be there with some of our alpacas & our products. We’ll be happy to answer questions about the alpacas as well as talk about the products that can be made from their fleece. Come join us!!
